I am running a ABIT NF-7 mobo and it has built in sound decoder and nic card, the sound card seems to work but had VERY low volume levels so I have to turn up my speakers all the way. The nic card doesn’t work so I just put in one of my PCI nic cards and it found it. So I decided to install nVIDIA platform/ nForce drivers from nVIDIAs web site I have Fedora Core 1, I downloaded drivers from
http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_nforce_1.0-0261 I was not sure what drivers to use so I picked the Red Hat 9.0 NVIDIA_nforce-1.0-0261.rh90up_2.4.20_6.athlon.rpm drivers and installed with
/ rpm –ivh NVIDIA_nforce-1.0-0261.rh90up_2.4.20_6.athlon.rpm
It seemed to install everything. But when I go and look it tells me I still have no nic card and the sound card is still not found. Is anyone else having this problem or know a workaround for getting better sound levels out of Linux or did I pick the wrong rpm to install. There is a Red Hat 9.0 and a Red Hat 9.0 Kernel Upgrade like I said before I just picked the Red Hat 9.0 rpm. Maybe I picked the wrong one.
