Full Version: kernal not right to os

hello there, ive had a look to see what kernal i have and it says its a fc4 kernal

check to see what the OS is and its FC6

 

now when i try to do 'yum update kernal' it says there isnt any updates to make

 

when i try to do yum update i get an error about the kernal

 

any ideas?

i eneded up formatting the machine, as i need to get it up and runnign again , ive left this one as fedora core 4 and nto updated seems to be fine.

 

the results yum list installed grep kernel showed fedora core 4 smp and devel

 

car /etc/release shows fedora core 5 bordeux

 

 

i had tried before formatting upgrading to fedora 6 but got the same results with the kernel staying the same
