Hey everyone,

 

I'd like to upgrade our old FC4 server to FC7, however this machine is our production mail server/web server. I can have a few hours of down time but I'd rather not rebuild from scratch.

 

Can I upgrade from yum or the install DVD ?

the best advice is first backup.

 

once you've backed up everything important take the upgrade (via yum) this way.

 

fcr4>fcr5>fcr6>fc7

 

it involves a lot more work but it'll work better than jumping directly from fcr4 to f7.
