I just purchased a Dell D630 and am looking for a distro that will be the least painful to setup. I have tried to setup 7.04. Had video issues but I think I have resolved them but am having a LOT of network issues. (Wired not working, Wireless not working,) Also it doesn't appear to see my DVD burner as an available drive. Is there a distro that would be a better solution than Ubuntu 7.04 ? Are there any pointers that I should look for?

I am over my head here I think. :(

try Fedora 7, and with all linux distros you must be prepared to do some work to get things functioning as they do in windows

Hi!

I've tried the recipe listed in http://w3.ualg.pt/~aanjos/misc.html and it was not difficult.

It has the instructions for the Debian Testing installation.

Cheers
