OK, I'm trying to install Flash Player for Firefox on Fedora Core 5 Test 3. I've checked in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins and /usr/lib/firefox-1.5.0.1/plugins and there is libflashplayer.so and flashplayer.xpt in both folders, they are both rwxr-xr-x.

 

Despite this, in Firefox, about:plugins shows nothing related to Flash Player. I've tried reinstalling as per the official method, I've tried the instructions here but Firefox refuses to play Flash and I get a 'Additional plugins are required...' on any Flash-enabled page.

 

Does anyone know why this doesn't work??

Can you try a local install to the user directory see if it works there? Also investigate mozilla-launcher to see where it looks for the plugins.
