I thought this would be kinda fun to see for a few reasons!

i'll go on a more higher level in no order what so ever

 

1) gaim - a lot of my freelance clients talk to me this way

2) firefox+mplayerplugin - i love the porn

3) kdevelop - a great c++ ide

4) zend - a great php ide

5) gdb - for debugging my badly written c++ apps

6) kisemet - since i helped write it in the early days and i do enjoy the wardriving

7) ettereal - how can you not like this.. arp posioning a coffee shop to replace all images with your own image

8) thunderbird - i feel its the best mail client out there

9) gcc - best compiler in the world

10) mplayer - doesn't get much better then this

ssh - day in day out its the only way to connect between my servers

vim / gvim - editor of choice

sshd - where would ssh be without its server :)

vsftpd - quick easy safe ftpd

mysql - its not a big clever db server.. but it does me just fine

the coreutils - i know its not a "program" but this pack contains utilities that are truely at the heart of all linux distributions.

shell - yes the bourne shell, the posix shell, heart to all my shell scripts

awk - quick and dirty programming, scripting would be a nightmare without it!

sed - what awk is too heavy for, sed will rip throw

[*]
perl - if i can't sh/awk/sed it .. i will perl it :)

gcc - the compiler, nothing else comes close
