Hi, I am having some issues with my dvd rom and cd rw. it reads the dvd rom but not the cd rw. Also when i try to play a dvd movie it locks my computer solid, i am thinking there might be an issue between the 2 drives... I am hoping there is a way i can configure it to detect my cd rw and that may solve the problem...
my first guess is check the master/slave jumpers on the drives if they are on the same IDE chain
Ok, if they are what then? do i move the jumper? if so where hehe thanks dude...

try each device separatley. does it work correctly (with the other completely disconnected)

if so it may be a jumper issue

one should be master. one should be slave

or both on cable-select

of course it could also be a duff IDE cable

cheers

Ok I had 2 roms in it and it works fine. 1 Rom being the cd-rw and the second just a normal rom. Only time i get an error is when the dvd rom is installed.
Awesome, it was a jumper issue i simplt took my old drive looked at its jumper setting and put the dvd rom jumper in the same location and it now works thanks alot guys for your help really appreciate the quick responses :)
