ah Centos is such an excellent distro, i must admit, i've not had a problem with it since starting with it (for the remote web server).

love the old Gnome 2 too !

I really have to say CentOS 6 runs fine for a desktop now. I have everything I need running. torrent client, im client, mail client, ftp client. Only need to get virtualbox running. Working on that.
