hi all,

I lost my hda partition and do anyone of u know how to bring it back?

It is on the forst 8Gb of my hd and contains fedora.

did you reinstall windows (dual boot) if so it overwrote the linux boot partition

you'll need to get fedora cd 1, boot from it, choose linux rescue,

chroot /mnt/sysimage

then cd /boot/grub

then grub

and from there, you'll need more advice as to how to install a 'lost' grub

all the info is still there, you just don't have a boot loader

heres a grub restore howto - here

hth, if not, let us know what happened, and what you did

cheers

I was trying to uninstall the linux and just before the partitioning step it gave me a warning that hda will be inaccessible which I ignored and after that it automatically rebooted. And after that I didn?t show hda.

PM shows nothing about hda only show hdb and also the fdisk -l.

it shows

/dev/hdb1 * b win 98 fat32

/dev/hdb2 f extended

/dev/hdb5 b

/dev/hdb6 b

/dev/hdb7 b

/dev/hdb8 b
