Symantec Live Update - lerum - 2004-12-13

I haven't been able to update my virus definitions since the 13th of September! That was when i switched to a router.

I run it and get

Quote:Initializing...Connecting to liveupdate.symantecliveupdate.com...

Unable to connect to host

LU1841: LiveUpdate could not connect to your Internet Service Provider. Verify your dial-up information is correct.

LiveUpdate session is complete.

anyone know if i need to change any settings?

I am using Norton Anti-virus 2002 as well as Norton Personal Firewall 2002.

any help is greatly apprecieted.

Well, a few comments.. If you are behind a router (which sounds like this router is also working as a firewall for you) then you will need to open the port that Norton uses for connecting to its server. Also, if you router is setup with the firewall you will have no need to run a seperate software firewall in most cases.

@Mandarax - i've turned off the firewall on my router because i was using Norton Internet Firewall 2002.

@anyweb - Thanks for that, aparently i've got 32 viruses sounds like someone is spying on me
