I am using fedora8.

I donot see any entries for my hard disk partitions in the /etc/fstab file. But strangely all the partitions have a shortcut on the desktop !

is there any other place where these partitons are mounted from ?

Hello,

Issuing the mount command on its own shows all mounted partitions and where they are mounted at.

There is also the file /proc/mounts which contains the information.
