  2. Vemon, I thinkI tried what you said but no luck. Where do I add the IP address to exactly. To the Samba Config or the Network card config. I know you said "Host" but what is a host? The 98 computers or the Linux box. I have a router that is my DHCP server that handles my IP's. So would a static IP help in the config area that I have to use??? Sorry about the simple Questions but I am going to get this. Also I do not use a password to log into my Windows network. I just left the passwork blank could this be a problem? Thanks JoeW
  3. Hello, I have a 98 Machine and I Linux Fedora machine. I can see the linux machine in my windows network neighborhood but when I double click on it this error keeps coming up. "The computer or shared name could not be found. Make sure you typed it correctly and try again." I know it is a Samba setting that is wrong but I am new to Linux and need some help. Thanks Joe W
