  1. Don't forgot about your virtual host's access log files! Its a good idea to keep all of your virtual host logs seperated. This can easily be done by adding "CustomLog /path/filename" to your Vhost entry. In my Fedora Core 3 setup, my apache log files are located /var/log/httpd/. I'll use that path for the example below. NameVirtualHost 100.0.0.3:80 <VirtualHost 100.0.0.3:80> ServerAlias www.linux-noob.com ServerAdmin anyweb@linux-noob.com DocumentRoot /usr/local/apache/htdocs/ ServerName linux-noob.com CustomLog /var/log/httpd/www.linux-noob.com_accessLog combined </V
  2. Thanks anyweb... I used your "how to" for nvidia drivers to get my dual head MX4000-64Twin running on FC3. I only changed a few "strings" like the VESA driver (generic) to what FC3 labeled as my video card (NVIDIA GeForce 4 MX (generic). Also, I noticed if one were to change the display settings using the Applications, System Settings, Display GUI, that IT will write "nv" for the drivers string. I had to edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf replacing that system entry "nv" with "nvidia". I knew it will work after seeing the Nvidia splash screen on both monitors. Quick hardware list: 1 x G Fo
  3. What does Trace/breakpoint mean? I get this when try'n the -f option in apt-get install. [root@400celey root]# apt-get install Reading Package Lists... Done Building Dependency Tree... The following packages have unmet dependencies: desktop-printing: Depends: redhat-config-printer-gui (>= 0.6.67-1) but it is not installed perl-DBD-Pg: Depends: libpq.so.3 E: Unmet dependencies. I'm not an active user; however, I do find this site helpful from time to time. well... after i did the conversion of us to euro, my donation only equalled to 8.02 euros. PayPal's Exchange Rate as of Jul. 17, 2004: 1 U.S. Dollar = 0.783006 Euros I guess its better than nothing!
  6. I think somebody here told me not to use Fedora as a SERVER.... I didn't understand the logic in it. Any reasons why I shouldn't use it as a server?

That came from phpfreak's site. Strange. IF no one is taking applications, what kind of tech support do they offer?

I am having issues with file sharing with my MacOS box and windows and I can't see my linux shares at all from X. I would like to know if there is a better distro of linux I can use that can serve
