i have Fedora Core 3 and have som problems with the local disc... i cant rename files, change permissions, and im root. and how do i make shortcut and change permission with terminal?

 

I'm new with Linux FC3=)

What error do you get? You can change permissions using the ch* programs (chown, chmod, ...), (soft-)links are created by using "ln -s <target> <link name>".

Can you paste the error messages that you receive when trying to change file permission?

well, could you paste some errors ?

maybe you are trying to modify some ntfs mount or vfat.

 

are you running as root ?
