Default installation would be /usr/bin try adding "--prefix=/usr" if building from source. Although since you have gentoo a quick emerge should do instead?

firefox has a GUI installer. When it asks for install path, would I just tell it to install to /usr/bin? I told it to install in /opt/firefox before because I saw some folders for other programs in there and I couldn't start it by typing firefox in shell like I should have been able to. Would I just move the executable to /usr/bin or move all the files in the firefox folder to /usr/bin?
