Xgl on Fedora?

Does anyone know of an easy way to install Xgl/Compiz on Fedora 5 without grabbing from CVS and compiling etc?

i don't use fedora or any rpm based distro so i can't test this myself...

however i did find::: teh link below which should help

Thanks for the link - I'll check it out.

 

I have done some compiling actually, but I tend not to do it on my main machine, it causes weird things to happen (I think it's something hardware-related).

Thanks, norko, it worked a treat.

 

Be careful, though, if you're a fast but inaccurate typer (like me). It seems that Shift-Backspace is a new keyboard shortcut to kill X - that got me a bit stumped at first.

If anyone is having the Shift-Backspace issue, I found a fix.

 

Run:

Code:
xmodmap -e "keycode 22 = BackSpace"




 

You will have to run this at every logon, however.

thanks for the tip. i don't use xgl anymore, found i useless lol.. [i'm not an eye candy person] but if i ever give it a go again... then i personally will surely find this helpful..

and other will as well ;-)
