Hi I'm Don. I recently converted over to Linux's Ubuntu 7.10 from Xp. It's a dual boot for now until I manage to get everything I need for linux. Definately having a hard time installing or loading apps. If anyone knows of good tutorials for this. Send that link my way!

welcome to the forums. take linux one step at a time, it's foolish to expect to get everything working immediately

I would like to get Beryl 0.20 loaded. Trying to find resources to help step by step is a little hard.

Code:

It says its done but while reading it says

Couldn't find any package whose name or description matched "beryl"

No candidate version found for emerald-themes

Couldn't find any package whose name or description matched "beryl"

Couldn't find package "manager", and more than 40

packages contain "manager" in their name.

No packages will be installed, upgraded, or removed.

0 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

Need to get 0B of archives. After unpacking 0B will be used.

I noticed since it is installed that my shortcut keys on my keyboard dont work now and my resolution has changed. I take it that beryl requires all 3d graphics available to make it work properly!
