http 'bridge' to irc sever
#1

Hello,

I am going to port my server from windows to linux. :)

I want to run an irc server, but, I want people to be able to chat through their browsers. So there should be some kind of bridge from irc to http.

What gives people? Is there software for this? Any ideas?

Jean.

Lots of options, you simply use a web based IRC client. Most of the common web software will have an IRC plug-in. If not you could take a look at CGI:IRC. Its a Perl CGI based web client.

Hi Jean,

You will need to still setup an IRC server and have the web based IRC client connected to you're IRC server.

The IRC server I would recommend is "UnrealIRCd" (http://www.unrealircd.com/) :)

And I would suggest either Ratbox or Hybrid :)

But yeah, CGI:IRC is really the only web-based option.
