Fedora 9 with Gnome...
#1

hi all,

I upgraded my Fedora 8 box to Fedora 9 today by using the install DVD and choosing the upgrade option during installation. It took a few hours and now i'm in the process of yum update amonsgt other things, this is the gnome version and i noticed that the gnome trademark footprint is in place instead of Fedora's own logo,

any one know why ? is that normal ?

here's a screenshot of what I mean

Hello Anyweb. Here's a screen shot of my Fedora 9 desktop. I don't have the font issues. Notice the Gnome logo to left in place of the Fedora logo. I'm having a lot of small issues with this distro. Software that doesn't work, can't print to a networked printer anymore, etc. Annoying to say the least.

hi Glennzo,

did you upgrade f8 to f9 or do a clean install of f9 ?

what network printer are you trying to print to and what is the error if any ?

as regardsa my fonts problem that disappeared when I restarted X after a

Code:
yum -y update

cheers

This is a clean install. The printer is an Epson Stylus Color C88. Worked perfectly until I installed Fedora 9. As I write this I'm downloading Samba updates. We'll have to see if I can print in 20 minutes or so.

when I change my theme in F9 to 'Fedora' the F logo re-appears,

<a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_06_2008/post-1-1212870636.png" data-fileid="1097">[img]<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_06_2008/post-1-1212870636.png[/img]</a>

if i change the theme back to some other them (eg: crux) i see the gnome foot

it worked fine in F8 so I wonder why it shows this behaviour in F9.
