yum error?
#1

Every time I try to install anything using Yum, it gives me this error back:

Quote:http://mirror.web.com.ph/centos/5.2/os/i38...ata/repomd.xml: [Errno 12] Timeout: <urlopen error timed out>Trying other mirror.

Error: Cannot open/read repomd.xml file for repository: CENTOS

can anyone help me about this? :)

It sounds like it has problems communicating with that (yum) server. Can you ping it by name? You may have resolution problems, or the yum server could just be busy.

Also, are you running "yum" as root or as an ordinary user?

What distribution and version are you running here? The error messages imply you're trying to access a CentOS repo for v5.2, but in my CentOS 5.2 install, I don't have a repository called CENTOS, I just have base, updates, addons and extra.
