Dell 1320c and Linux
#1

I bought this printer and need to also use it in Linux, so this is how you can

download this driver

dpc525a_linux_.0.0.tar.zip

unzip using unzip

Code:
unzip dpc525a_linux_.0.0.tar.zip

Quote:[anyweb@localhost ~]$ unzip dpc525a_linux_.0.0.tar.zipArchive: dpc525a_linux_.0.0.tar.zip

inflating: C525A_LinuxE/C525A_Linux_manE.pdf

inflating: C525A_LinuxE/Fuji_Xerox-DocuPrint_C525_A_AP-1.0-1.i386.rpm

extracting: C525A_LinuxE/fxprefilter-1.0.0.tar.gz

inflating: C525A_LinuxE/MD5-CheckSum.txt

as root install the rpm

Code:
rpm -Uvh Fuji_Xerox-DocuPrint_C525_A_AP-1.0-1.i386.rpm

Quote:[root@localhost C525A_LinuxE]# rpm -Uvh Fuji_Xerox-DocuPrint_C525_A_AP-1.0-1.i386.rpm Preparing... ########################################### [100%]

Starting cups: [ OK ]

click on System, Administration, Printing (or System-Config-Printer)

then when the app appears, click on Server, New, Printer

choose AppSocket/HP JetDirect

for Host, type in the IP address of the Dell 1320c, and give the Queue a name eg: Dell Printer and click Forward,

When the Choose Driver page appears, select FX as the Manufacturer (Makes), then choose DocuPrint C525 A-AP as the model and driver, click forward again, leave the options as default.

Change the printer name to Dell Color Laser 1320c, and then click apply, enter your root password and you are done.
