You could have like an e-zine not an actual paper based magazine.

you could write tutorials on setting up Samba, LDAP etc also include

scurity news and compile it all in a PDF and put on the site.

yup but that involves time and effort, i'll certaintly consider it though, if you'd like to create the first version, then go ahead and give us an idea of what it should be like

remember this site is aimed at noobs., and of course caters for those who are more than that.

That said, I'd very much like to see issue one of the 'magazine' to be simple, with no more than 5 tips.

Those tips should be clear, and short.

That is what I'd like the magazine to be, for now.

And of course, it can link here directly to articles on DNS/NIS/Antivirus and what not, do you see what I mean ?

linux-noob.com <----- look at the domain name ! it's for noobs !!

I set this site up primarily because when I first dabbled with linux all the help I got was from google or friends/acquaintences who used linux. The real linux world on IRC for example were almost sickening in their utter comtempt of my complete lack of linux knowledge. (RTFM noob etc...), so I really would have loved (at that time) to have found a site like this, and that's why I set the forums up, and set up #linux-noob on IRC. To cater for noobs and anyone else who wants to participate.

So, back to the magazine,

please keep it simple

touch on noob subjects only (think like someone who has never used linux before, or today is there first day using linux)

aim it towards noobs

I hope you see where I'm getting at :)

cheers

anyweb (still a noob, but learning everyday).
