Xgl on Fedora?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know of an easy way to install Xgl/Compiz on Fedora 5 without grabbing from CVS and compiling etc?

i don't use fedora or any rpm based distro so i can't test this myself...

however i did find::: teh link below which should help

http://fedoraxgl.tuxfamily.org/index.php?t...Installation_en

:-)

compiling is good... lol you should try it...

Thanks for the link - I'll check it out.

I have done some compiling actually, but I tend not to do it on my main machine, it causes weird things to happen (I think it's something hardware-related).

Thanks, norko, it worked a treat.

Be careful, though, if you're a fast but inaccurate typer (like me). It seems that Shift-Backspace is a new keyboard shortcut to kill X - that got me a bit stumped at first.

If anyone is having the Shift-Backspace issue, I found a fix.

Run:

xmodmap -e "keycode 22 = BackSpace"

You will have to run this at every logon, however.
