  IPB search
Posted by: hybrid - 2006-09-18, 06:14 PM - Forum: Site Problems - Replies (2)

If you do a search on the forums and one or more things less than 4 characters long, IPB complains:

Quote:One or all of your search keywords were below 4 characters or you searched for words which are not allowed, such as 'html', 'img', etc, please go back and increase the length of these search keywords or choose different keywords.

With so many acronyms etc. that are less than 4 characters, this could result in irritation. Say if I want to find a topic on tunnelling X over SSH - I type in ssh x in the search box and it will reject the search. Not only is this a pain, but it's more likely to result in someone posting a new topic where they could search and find the answer.

I just wonder if you would consider lifting this restriction if it's at all possible, as I often find myself referring back to old topics using the search and I'm sure this would benefit newer LN members and reduce duplicate topic posting.

Just an idea... :)

Please tell me, where i should find what i need.

Maybe it will be database or something else like [sPAM URL REMOVED]

Thank you.

P.S. I live in Texas

[edited by anyweb -

this is a linux forum, if you want a job, get off the internet and go look for one, ps, adding a URL to some lame site will increase your chances of getting banned, especially when it's an off-topic post in the wrong forum section AND is your first post. Good day!.

p.s. now that your email address has validated I hope you don't mind if it's used to sign up on some websites like the one you spammed above ? no? , good.

p.p.s your I.P address resolves to

tot ip network #1 chiengmai province dial up pool ip address and LAN pop infrastructure

in Thailand, so nice try, and good luck with learning engrish.]

Posted by: lcohen999 - 2006-09-07, 07:12 PM - Forum: Remote Access - Replies (2)

Good Afternoon All,

I administer a lot of character based only linux boxes.

I am looking for a program where I can SSH into my box, then remote control to one of the pts/ screens.

There is no X-Windows installed.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!
