Hi. Last time, I use the file Linuxexe.exe file. I try to click and download all files, and it apply not i really want.

 

Usually, mplayer appear to be old type skin, but this one different, Its blue in colour =.=

 

 

Well, this mplayer that i use last time can open up all files with subtitles.

And the new mplayer that is in that web site dont have..

 

So... anyone can help me???

welll im back to linux again haha and since i havent used it in a long time i kinda forgot a lot of the stuff. i forgot how to configure aterm completly... :S would be nice if someone could hook me up with some nice tutorials or tell me how to.. >_> lol and also, for fluxbox.. how do i configure how it looks, use tabs, add back grounds, and desktop icons etc... i know ur suppose to use idesk and or rox but i cant seem to get it from yum.... it says not found etc... (im using fedora core 5) like the general file that configures the apperience of fluxbox... and yea.. im extreamly noob so if its not too much to ask for.. plz go into a little bit more detail when explaining things cause im one ezly confused guy lol

 

edit: oh yea also i tried downloading a theme from [/url][url=http://fluxbox.sourceforge.net/themes.php]http://fluxbox.sourceforge.net/themes.php and when i applied it it was completly off etc.. wut do i need to change and stuff for it to look nicer?

I administer a lot of character based only linux boxes.

 

I am looking for a program where I can SSH into my box, then remote control to one of the pts/ screens.

 

There is no X-Windows installed.

 

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Just installed Ubuntu 6.06. I moved a couple of known good mp3 files from my Windoze computer onto the Ubuntu desktop and attempted to listen to them. If I click on them and select "open with Rhythmbox", nothing happens.

 

If I try to import the file directly into Rhythmbox, it attempts to load it and fails, giving me the message

 

"Error loading files into library

(The following files could not be loaded)

The file is not an audio stream file"

 

Assuming a codecs issue, I ran the following in a terminal window:

 

wget -c [/url]http://packages.freecontrib.org/ubun...1plf1_i386.deb

sudo dpkg -i w32codecs_20060611-1plf1_i386.deb

[ Windows Codecs (w32codecs) ])

 

after running the command line was filled in with:

 

sudo dpkg -i w32codecs_20060611-1plf1_i386.deb

 

so I ran that and all seemed to go OK, but when I try to import the file again, I got the same message as above. Do I need to reboot in order for this type of change to become effective?

 

In another forum I found that " gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly " would solve the issue. I have examined every option in the synaptic manager and searched many times for the package " gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly ", but cannot find anything. I believe that it might be found in the " universe ", but there seems to be no way to turn on the "universe" option (which was mentioned in the post, but unfortunately it was for Ubuntu 4.10 so much has changed since the thread).

 

Apparently there is something yet to be done? Any assistance appreciated

I have syslog-ng running on a RHEL4 box logging Cisco traffic, finally. I found a nice example on the syslog-ng mailing list and modified it accordingly. I have it set to log to file instead of MySQL. I chose a flat file to be able to grep/search the logs at any time with out the assistance of a web front or other front and it's also cross platform. We are required to save logs for one year at least, I did not want to be responsible for such a large MySQL database and all the maintenance that comes with that. :)

 

I am desperately looking for a log analysis tool that will correlate all the logs and run reports, identify patterns, you know...all the bells and whistles. I looked at OSSIM at [/url]http://www.ossim.net/home.php but it does way more than I want it to. Php-syslog-ng( [url=http://www.vermeer.org/]http://www.vermeer.org/ which was last updated 2004) requires syslog-ng to use a MySQL DB. SWATCH does not do what I require so far as I can tell, nor does octopussy (8pussy.org).

 

My goal is to have most/all of our Windows domain controllers/member servers, all the Linux systems and all the network gear log to a central server and use a tool to process that data and generate results of emerging patters, warning signs and other things. Hopefully I can accomplish this with files instead of a MySQL DB but if I have to a DB would be very acceptable.

 

Any advise on this?
