if you have a computer with a Intel or Broadcom Gigabit network card, and you cannot get novell zenworks to see the network card to create a server image, then the reason is becuase your novell zenworks linux kernel is too old
Follow these instructions to get it working:-
Code:
Under the directory sys on the novell server you have a folder that is named tftp.
Under this folder you have 2 files called linux.1 and linux.2
rename those file to something else like linux.1.org then just copy the files that I am attaching here.

I want to install Fedora Core 2 onto my workstation at work. I have an exsisting install of windows 2000, witch I use very much at work, and can not afford to lose any data. Is there any way to install Fedora onto some of the free space. Or to just repartition the free space, while leaving the win 2k install in tact?
why would you do this ? well everyone knows that 'root' (the username) is the admin of your box, so by denying 'root' remote access to ssh into your box you are making it just a wee bit harder for the hackers to get into your box since now they will have to guess a username on your box.
1. As root,
Code:
vi /etc/ssh/sshd_config
2. In there find (or create) a line that reads
Quote:# Authentication:#LoginGraceTime 120
PermitRootLogin no
#StrictModes yes
The line PermitRootLogin no is the important one. Note there is no # in front of it.
3. Once you have made thos changes, save the file (esc then :wq).
4. Restart sshd (service sshd restart).
With this line root cannot ssh into the box. To become root, ssh in as a normal user then use su - to become root once logged in.
My name is Mike. I am a computer/technology consultant out of Jacksonville, FL. A co-worker of mine has me interested in linux again. He suggested that I join a forum to get a feel for linux. I will have to bring myself to the "Experienced Tech" level, so I intend on posting on here quite often.
