OK, So I'm very new to linux and I have to use fedora for one of my university modules.
Here's the scenario
I am using virtual box to install(or try to install) fedora core 2. when I get to disk partitioning it tells me something like : input/output error cannot write to dev/hda.... which is where I get stuck, any help on this.. I have set aside 8gb of fixed disk space for the virtual machine.

Android getting sold for money |

Source: Android foes still beating GPL non-compliance drum
And what does everyone think of that Android is getting sold with mobile phones?
While it runs on a linux kernel which is actually opensource. And they are keeping
some of the code back I read and then they are selling it? Doesn't really sound to me
like Android is really respecting Linux GPL, and then Android wouldn't really be
opensource? What are your opinions on this?

Apple vs Samsung Lawsuit
Apple vs Samsung Battle
I just wanted to know what people's opinions are on the whole Apple vs Samsung thing. That Apple
says Samsung Galaxy S2 and the galaxy pad looks too much like apple's iphone and ipad?
I Think thing samsung has every right because the software they are using is different and I don't see
a problem with Apple having to compete the results are both companies wanting to make better products :)

new linux filesystem in development |

A new linux filesystem is in development. I wonder how much better it actually will be. I'm actually fine with
ext4 and I think it's better to just stick with ext instead of making up a whole new one. But that's just my
opinion. I'm sure they've got reasons to make a whole new file system. Here it is:
source: https://btrfs.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/Main_Page
* Extent based file storage
* 2^64 byte == 16 EiB maximum file size
* Space-efficient packing of small files
* Space-efficient indexed directories
* Dynamic inode allocation
* Writable snapshots, read-only snapshots
* Subvolumes (separate internal filesystem roots)
* Checksums on data and metadata
* Compression (gzip and LZO)
* Integrated multiple device support
* RAID-0, RAID-1 and RAID-10 implementations
* Efficient incremental backup
* Background scrub process for finding and fixing errors on files with redundant copies
* Online filesystem defragmentation
Additional features in development, or planned, include:
* Very fast offline filesystem check (coming soon!)
* RAID-5 and RAID-6
* Object-level mirroring and striping
* Alternative checksum algorithms
* Online filesystem check
* Efficient incremental filesystem mirroring
